Dear Etihad Airways, I recently booked tickets for a trip from IAD to Hyderabad on December 25th and back on January 21st for two passengers using the email address [redacted] I have two matters I would like to address in this email. Despite my attempts, I was unable to connect with a customer service representative through the toll-free line. 1. STUDENT DISCOUNT: I unintentionally forgot to apply the student discount for both travelers, Karan Ramchandani and Nikhila Muddu, who are students at William and Mary University. I kindly request the airline to apply the discount retroactively and issue a refund. 2. Student baggage allowance: I understand that students are entitled to an additional baggage allowance of three bags, but we were granted the standard two-bag allowance. I would appreciate it if you could adjust our allowance accordingly. I hope these matters can be addressed promptly. Thank you and regards.

I recently had a flight with your airline from Johannesburg to Abu Dhabi on November 27th. Unfortunately, upon arrival on the 28th, my bag did not make it onto the flight and was left behind in Johannesburg. You were able to arrange for the bag to be sent on a new route via Johannesburg to Nairobi and finally to Abu Dhabi on November 30th. However, despite this, I have yet to receive my bag and have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone at your customer service despite multiple attempts. Tracking my bag has also been unsuccessful, as its current whereabouts are unknown. My name is Z. du Plessis and the tag number for my bag is BA524779.

Hello, I would like to share that I modified my return flight from Chennai to Stavanger (Norway) from the 12th of December to the 19th of December on Etihad.com using the "manage my booking" feature. I attempted to pay the additional fee for the change with my Indian Mastercard, but received an error message saying "unable to process the request." Suspecting a card issue, I tried a different debit card, only to encounter the same outcome. Upon checking my accounts, I discovered that the amount was deducted twice. I am requesting assistance to have one of the charges reversed, and I have yet to receive confirmation of the changed return date. Thank you for your guidance on resolving this matter.

It has been a week since one of our pieces of luggage went missing during our travels. We are eagerly awaiting any updates. The reference for the missing luggage is EY126888 on the flights EY461/EY76 from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi and then to Madrid. The only information we have is that the luggage was not scanned in Madrid. Our claim was submitted through Iberia Handling with the reference MADEY10037/MASSA. Could you kindly provide us with more details on the situation? We are hopeful that the luggage will be located soon. Thank you. - Omar Guardiola Valencia/Zoe Massa

Hello, I'm hoping to ask for a favor today. Tomorrow, my friends are flying with your airline for their honeymoon. After a difficult year due to the pandemic, including wedding and honeymoon cancellations and personal losses, they are finally able to go on their trip. Their flight is scheduled for tomorrow, December 11th at 12:40 pm from Manchester on EY22. The booking is under the name of Mr. J. Price and Mrs. F. Price. I would greatly appreciate it if you could make their experience extra special. It would mean a lot to see them happy and starting their holiday in a special way. If there is any availability, perhaps you could consider upgrading them to business class. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Best regards, Nicola

I am currently on a temporary graduate visa and have a flight booked with Etihad on the 14th of December, [redacted]. My flight is scheduled for 2:20 pm from Delhi to Sydney via Abu Dhabi, with an arrival in Sydney around 9:30 pm on the 15th. I am concerned about whether Etihad will allow me to board this flight due to Australian border restrictions changing on the 15th of December, allowing temporary visa holders to travel to and from Australia. I have attempted to contact customer service without success. Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, I will be traveling from Tokyo (Narita Airport) to Amsterdam (Schiphol Airport) with a layover in Abu Dhabi. My booking reference code is XHZNBV. I have been informed that all passengers are required to undergo a PCR test. I have a couple of inquiries: 1) Is there a specific method for the sample collection process? I have heard of two main methods: swab or saliva. Could you please advise on the preferred method? 2) Will I need a physical copy of my negative test certificate, or is a digital PDF acceptable? I would like to know if I should visit a clinic to obtain a physical copy of the certificate. Thank you.

I traveled from Ahmedabad to the USA on December 11, [redacted], but was not allowed to board the Etihad Airways flight EY101. The airline said there was a spelling mistake in my name on the ticket. My correct name is AJAYKUMAR but it was typed as AJAYKUAMR. I paid the name correction fee of Rs [redacted] (USD [redacted]) as requested, but I was still not allowed to board. The airline advised me to contact the US embassy, which I did, but there was no resolution. I have applied for a passport name change, but it's a lengthy process. I kindly request a refund for my ticket from Ahmedabad to the USA (reference no: YSVYXC, flight no: EY289), as well as the name correction fee. My contact number is +91 [redacted].

I am writing regarding an issue with my baggage during my recent trip. My name is Mrs. Soochasingh Sorenthar Kaur, and I traveled from Kuala Lumpur to Abu Dhabi on December 15, [redacted], on Flight No: EY [redacted], then from Abu Dhabi to New Delhi on the same day on Flight No: 3L [redacted]. Unfortunately, upon my arrival in New Delhi, my baggage did not arrive with me. This has caused a significant inconvenience as I do not have any personal clothes, underclothing, grooming products, or makeup items. Despite the situation, I was not provided any compensation by the Etihad authorities at the airport for immediate clothing or grooming expenses. The missing items are valued at approximately US Dollars 11,[redacted].00, including clothes, makeup, and a new attache case. I am requesting immediate compensation of US Dollars 11,[redacted].00 to cover the discomfort, airport delay, and the inconvenience of not having a change of clothes.

I want to share our recent experience flying with Etihad Airways on December 1st, [redacted], from Mumbai to Manchester, UK. Despite being fully vaccinated, we encountered issues at the Mumbai airport during our transfer in Abu Dhabi. At the gate before boarding our flight to Manchester, we were asked to show our vaccination certificates once more. Since the certificates from India only display age and not birthdates, the Etihad staff confiscated our boarding passes and treated us as unvaccinated passengers. They also required us to fill out a passenger locator form. We felt harassed by the situation.

Good morning, I have two flights booked with Etihad Airways. The first is on 26th December [redacted] from Brussels to Abu Dhabi, and the second is on 2nd January [redacted] from Abu Dhabi to Zurich. My reservation number is K4DCPA. My family and I are fully vaccinated, and we have the EU digital certificate due to being infected in January [redacted] and receiving one dose. Although the mandatory rule mentions two doses, I hope our situation as fully vaccinated in the EU will not be an issue. I am aware that for our Etihad flight, we need a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours before the flight. Considering that our flight is on 26th December at 14:10, if we were to take the test at 9am on the 24th, would this timing be acceptable given the holiday period? Thank you in advance, Miguel Soares.

During our recent journey from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai on EY [redacted], scheduled for 12/24, unfortunately, none of our four checked bags made it to our destination. As a result, we are currently without any clothing or toiletries. We are hoping Etihad Airways can provide information on the reimbursement we are entitled to. Our claim number is BOMFY [redacted]. Given that our luggage was marked as Priority and we had a layover of over 6 hours in Abu Dhabi coming from the USA, we are puzzled as to why all our bags were not transferred accordingly. We eagerly await the arrival of our bags and appreciate any updates. Thank you.

Hello, I am requesting a refund for an additional payment I made for transporting my bicycle that was within the specified weight limit with the appropriate packaging while traveling from Berlin to Bangalore via Brussels and Abu Dhabi with a booking through Etihad. When inquiring with Etihad support before my trip, I was assured that the baggage regulations of Brussels Airlines would apply on the Berlin-Brussels leg. However, I was unexpectedly charged [redacted]€ by Brussels Airlines for my bicycle. I can provide a receipt for the payment. I kindly ask for your assistance in resolving this issue promptly. Unfortunately, my spouse and I, M. and S. Rabi, were unable to board our flight to TLV from Melbourne, Australia, as we tested positive on a PCR test. Despite receiving two AstraZeneca doses and a third Pfizer shot, we were unable to travel. We have completed our isolation as confirmed by the government, but I am aware we may still test positive due to residual virus fragments. Can we still fly with Etihad given these circumstances?

Cordialement, J.H. MADEC 1 boulevard Paul Barré – [redacted] Maule
