I work at a provider's office. We have a patient/member who should have Medicare as primary and Empire Blue Cross as secondary insurance. After sending numerous letters, we finally got Medicare to pay as the primary insurer. However, Empire Blue Cross is still not processing the claims despite multiple submissions. This delay is causing significant problems for the patient/member, who has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and is struggling to schedule oncology appointments due to these insurance complications.

I'm reaching out as I'm nearing the end of my COBRA coverage with Anthem BCBS at the end of this month. Trying to secure insurance through the marketplace without losing coverage at Memorial Sloan Kettering has been challenging. I've been looking into the Platinum plan on the marketplace for around $[redacted] a month, but I also need to explore the cost of a private insurance Platinum plan. I aim to compare the two and make a decision before the month ends to ensure coverage starts on Oct 1. Despite multiple attempts through their call back options and waiting on hold for extended periods, I have not been able to speak to a live person for assistance. In [redacted], I provided treatment to an Empire Blue client for depression but have yet to receive reimbursement. Despite errors on the form, the claim was corrected by a medical insurance biller twice, but I still have not been paid the almost $2,[redacted] owed for services. I have made numerous attempts through calls and letters to resolve this issue to no avail. The client also faced challenges being admitted to a local hospital due to Empire's failure to reimburse, causing distress during a critical time.
