I own a Cub Cadet push mower with model number 12A18MC056. Recently, I replaced the drive cable as it had stripped. After installing the new cable, I noticed that it does not engage to turn the wheels, and I couldn't find a way to tighten it. I have been using the mower manually by pushing it, but now it seems to be stalling frequently, possibly due to overheating. Despite my careful installation of the drive cable, something seems to be amiss. I am unsure if I might have made an error during assembly that is causing these issues. It is difficult to disassemble the mower repeatedly to access the drive cable. Any advice or guidance on what to check for would be greatly appreciated.

I own a XT3 GS Cub Cadet that has been stalling from May through today, July 15, [redacted]. It has been to an authorized shop at least 5 times, totaling a month of time. The first shop couldn't replicate the stalling and even took it home to observe, only for the issue to continue. I then took it to another authorized dealer who confirmed the stalling. They suspected a fuel problem, cleaned the tank and fuel lines for a fee not covered by warranty. After mowing twice on my 1 1/2 acre property, the stalling has recurred. I bought a gas strainer to help clean any contamination, but the problem persists. With $1,[redacted] left to pay on the $4,[redacted] mower, I believe Cub Cadet has had enough attempts to fix it. As a loyal customer with other Cub Cadet products, I feel entitled to a proper resolution. Thank you!

I bought a Cub Cadet 21 inch 159cc 3-in-1 high rear wheel gas walk behind push mower from Home Depot in March [redacted]. I faced a starting issue in June [redacted] where it would not start again until cooling down after being warm. I contacted mtdproducts.com customer support, and a service center technician identified a problem with the automatic choke and the governor, stating it was not covered under warranty due to the mower being over a year old. The repair cost would be approximately $[redacted], which I found too expensive compared to the original cost of $[redacted] plus tax for the mower. Despite my disappointment, I enjoyed using the mower for its starting and cutting performance and the hose attachment cleaning feature. I came across positive ratings for the mower but am now hesitant to buy another one due to this issue. I believe this problem is uncommon, and I feel Cub Cadet should consider covering the repair or offering a replacement.

Five years ago, after conducting extensive research, we purchased a Cub Cadet RZTS 54" lawn mower with a Kawasaki engine, 21.5 horsepower. The first time we used it, it left a streak. Despite having only a little over [redacted] hours of use, the "change oil" alert never displayed, and we experienced battery issues. The mower was well-loved, leading us to maintain it diligently. Recently, while mowing, my wife encountered a harrowing incident where the blades and engine suddenly shut off, followed by a fire at the back of the mower. After a closer look, one spark plug was completely burnt, and the other remained intact. Unfortunately, the starter or motor seems irreparable as it won't start. We are greatly disappointed as we expected the mower to last longer. Regrettably, we currently lack the funds to purchase a new one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you - Dennis P.

Five years ago, after thorough research, I purchased a Cub Cadet RZTS **" Kawasaki engine, **.* horse lawn mower. When we mowed for the first time, it left a streak. Despite showing under *** hours of use, the change oil display never activated, and we had battery issues. Despite these problems, we maintained the mower. Recently, while my wife was mowing, the blades and engine suddenly stopped, and a fire broke out at the back of the mower. Luckily, she managed to put it out and was unharmed. One spark plug is completely burnt, and the other is fine. The starter or motor is now locked up and does not function. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a new mower. I believe Cub Cadet should take responsibility for this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. - D. Parker

I bought a Cub Cadet lawnmower back in October [redacted]. I have been using Lawnboys since I was 16, and now at 58, I switched to Cub Cadet. So far, the mower has been great, but today the engine made strange noises and sparked. I didn't get the Home Depot warranty, which I regret. I had 4 Lawnboys for 41 years without major issues, but now I might need to spend $[redacted] to repair the Cub Cadet. I have followed all maintenance guidelines. Can you advise me on my options? Thank you.

Good morning, I own a Cub Cadet CSV [redacted] leaf vacuum and found that the two metal twist tabs on the leaf bag's rear flap can unscrew and fall off, instead of just twisting and staying put. One of these metal twist tabs came off and I lost it. When I called customer service, I was told that the tab is not sold separately, and I would need to purchase a whole new bag, which I find unreasonable. I am hoping you can provide me with a replacement metal tab so that my leaf bag can function properly again. Thank you for your assistance. Bob F. I recently purchased parts online from Cub Cadet. I spoke with a customer service agent who said they would fit my older mower, but they don't. Now I need authorization to return them for a refund. I've been on hold for over an hour and a half without help. They recommended online chat for faster service. I tried that but after waiting for 30 minutes, the chat closed at 5:00pm EDT. This has been a frustrating experience with no email contact or direct line to speak with a representative. The customer service is extremely disappointing.

I purchased the Cub Cadet SC [redacted] with auto wheels less than a year ago. However, it is not starting even though I have put in new gas and a good spark plug. I have to use starter spray to get it going, but then it won't stay on. I reached out to Tractor Supply Co., and they suggested everything I already tried. I have an extended warranty and would like to exchange it. Initially, the first one I bought had starting issues, and they replaced it. Now, I urgently need it fixed as the town has warned me about my lawn. If I don't get a new one soon, I might face legal action. I have contacted Cub Cadet and Tractor Supply Co. in Medford, NY, without a resolution. Please contact me at [redacted]. Thank you.

I recently bought a [redacted] XT-2 LX-46 on 4/8/20. With only 7.5 hours of use and having mowed three times, I reached out to the dealer due to the mower not cutting level. Despite multiple calls, the mower was picked up on 6/3/20 and returned on 6/9/20. Unfortunately, the issue persisted, leading me to visit the dealer on 6/12/20. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of resolution, especially after being offered just $[redacted] for a trade-in, which I found insulting considering the mower is only three weeks old. I suspect the deck may be warped from transportation. I have been a loyal Cub Cadet customer with multiple purchases, annual servicing, and a clean record. The lack of assistance from Exit [redacted] Outdoor Power Equipment is disheartening. I am considering options like a new deck or a full-value trade-in for another Cub Cadet model. Your guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a [redacted] Cub Cadet XT2 LX42 22 HP Kohler with [redacted] hours, bought on 8/29/[redacted]. Occasionally, the engine fails to start after emptying the grass catcher. The starter gear engages but stops abruptly. I have to manually turn the flywheel for it to start when I turn the key. This has been an issue since new, not happening every time. The battery is fully charged. The dealer suggested rust around the starter as the culprit, not covered by warranty. They advised applying lithium grease to the shaft after removing the starter, which I find hard to believe since the starter has a dust cover. I don't use water to clean my mower, just a leaf blower. Any insights on this?

I placed an order for parts online but realized I entered the wrong email domain. Instead of AOL, I typed AIL. I wanted to contact customer service to correct it. After navigating through their help options, I finally got connected to a chat. I was the 10th person in line. After about 25 to 30 minutes, I saw I was 3rd in line but then the chat closed at 4:00 Central Time (5:00 Eastern). It seems they closed before helping everyone in the queue. I was frustrated and even tried to cancel the Cub Cadet 3x 26 snowblower I ordered the day before (unsuccessful). I spent $[redacted] on a Cub Cadet snowblower, but their customer service experience left much to be desired.

I bought a Cub Cadet model # 19A[redacted]0 Three-stage snow thrower on 11-10-[redacted]. I've only used it three times due to limited snowfall. During the recent snowstorm on 12/16/[redacted], it stopped working while throwing snow. M & R Power Equipment checked it and found the gearbox is faulty, with an estimated repair cost of about $[redacted]. Despite the expired warranty, I believe a piece of equipment breaking after just three uses indicates a possible fault. I've asked for the broken parts to be returned to explore potential options for replacement at no charge.

I bought a Cub Cadet snowblower from Home Depot in November [redacted]. When I used it for the first time, the Auger belt shredded. I contacted Cub Cadet and took it to a dealer for repair, costing $[redacted]. After using it twice more, the belt shredded again, and a spring with a cable fell out. The unit did not stop when disengaged, raising safety concerns. We believe we received a defective or previously used snowblower from Home Depot. We seek a visit from a representative to assess the situation under the product's warranty. - Jack L. Weaknecht

I recently bought a Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 60” from Home Depot. Upon my first use, the mower is having difficulty cranking after an hour of operation. I am having to re-choke it each time, which I know shouldn't be necessary when it's already warm. It emits smoke when restarted. Currently, the mower is not starting at all. Initially, I was going to add oil because the manual mentioned it comes without engine oil, but the dipstick contradicts it. Two canisters near the engine advise against topping off, yet the oil level seems low. I need assistance to resolve this issue promptly so I can complete mowing the lawn. Thank you, D. A.

My family is considering purchasing a UTV from Cub Cadet. After my dad had success with their other products, we decided on their UTV. I completed the online application for my less tech-savvy parents. The Cub Cadet website advertised a $[redacted] monthly payment with 0% APR for 24 months for the UTV. I filled out what I thought was a credit application for this specific offer, providing accurate information. Despite this, we received approval for a $[redacted] credit card instead of the UTV loan we were seeking. I tried to rectify the situation immediately but had difficulty contacting customer service. After a long wait on the phone, I was unable to speak to anyone. The chat bot was also unhelpful. This seems to be a recurring issue with Cub Cadet. I have never experienced such practices in my 15 years of online transactions. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

I purchased a Cub Cadet in April [redacted]. After about 20 hours of use, it started shutting off. I took it to the shop under warranty, and after 3 months, they returned it to me smoking when starting. It sat in my shed over winter. When I tried to use it again, it ran for about 30 minutes before shutting off and misfiring. I returned it to the same shop, and it has been there for over 3 weeks now. Customer support was unhelpful, claiming the shop needs to call MTD to request a replacement. When the shop called, they denied any record of my previous call, despite my phone log showing I contacted them. I am frustrated and considering legal action if my mower is not replaced.

I bought a Cub Cadet weedeating mower last year with a 3-year warranty. While using it recently, the bottom cap flew off and the bolts holding it together sheared off, causing a crack in the cap. I contacted Cub Cadet for warranty service only to be informed that the cap is not covered due to being a wear part. They insisted I take it to a repair center, which is an hour away. I requested just the bolts and cap to be replaced under warranty, but the representative, "Jacob", was unhelpful and insisted I take it to a shop. Despite offering to connect the new cap and bolts myself, Jacob seemed reluctant and mentioned speaking to his supervisor. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor and Jacob's attitude was rude and disinterested. I was charged $36+ for the cap that should have been covered under warranty. Reluctantly, I have to buy replacement bolts and nuts from a hardware store to avoid paying $18 for 3 bolts and nuts.

I recently had my Cub Cadet XT2 Enduro lawn tractor serviced last month, and now the starter is not working despite only having [redacted] hours of use over 6 years. Unfortunately, the dealer I used has permanently closed. I need to purchase a new starter and was wondering if there is any possibility of receiving a credit. I have been a long-time supporter of Cub Cadet products for their quality reputation. In addition to the lawn tractor, I have also bought a tractor lift HTL550, bagging unit 19A[redacted]0, self-propelled mower SC500HW, and a hauler 19A[redacted]0. It's disappointing that two major Cub Cadet dealers in my area have closed, leaving me with limited options for assistance. I would greatly appreciate any help with my starter replacement as a loyal customer facing this challenge due to the closure of the dealer in Elma, NY. I reside in Amherst, NY and look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you, R. Bartsch

I purchased a new Cub Cadet XT1 at Home Depot this spring, along with a grass catcher. Unfortunately, the grass catcher has some issues. The lid requires a rubber band to stay shut, and the little catches on the lid broke off in June. Additionally, the rubber seal under the lid keeps falling down, causing grass to fly all over me while mowing. I contacted the store where I bought the unit, and they mentioned that a Cub Cadet customer service representative would reach out to me. Despite providing my contact details, no one has contacted me. I find this new grass catcher much worse than the one I had with a previous Cub Cadet unit four or five years ago. I am disappointed with the quality of this product and believe that Cub Cadet should enhance it to maintain their reputation. When I inquired if Home Depot could warranty the catcher, they indicated that it would need to be addressed by a customer representative, but I have not received any response.
