I made reservations at two IBIS hotels in Dortmund by providing my credit card details. One hotel charged me [redacted] euros, while the other only confirmed the room. I have since canceled both bookings and opted for a different IBIS in Dusseldorf as my flight destination. At the time of booking, I understood that free cancellation was allowed up to one day before the stay, which is why I canceled almost a month in advance. I am yet to receive a refund for the charged fee, and the hotel directed me to contact Accor Customer Service for help. Unfortunately, I am unable to make calls from my current work location for the next two weeks. I believe a refund should be issued automatically if cancellations are free to avoid unintentional charges.
