What are the hours and when should I call?
People Magazine operates the call center for this 800-541-9000 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 1,680 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the People Magazine call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this People Magazine phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like People Magazine staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call People Magazine is Sunday. The most busy day to call is Monday, which averages 395% more phone calls by comparison.Again, this is based on a sample of 1,680 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Wednesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Tuesday, which is 620% longer than the minimum. As you can see, there is more fluctuation in hold time over the course of the week than there is in call volume.
In summation, the best day to call People Magazine is Wednesday. It isn't the least busy day, but the fact that hold times are shortest combined with it being on the busy side tells us that People Magazine staffs up on Wednesday to handle the higher call volume, and that makes it the best time to call.
Calling this number was really easy, as I was able to get through to a representative almost immediately. When I called, I was first put through to the automated system and told that it would try to answer my questions, but it would transfer me if it could not.
It first asked me why I was calling, telling me I could check my subscription, confirm my address, make a payment or say that I wanted to order a new subscription. Once I said, "I want to order", the system immediately transferred me to a representative.
The system is set to tell you your wait time, but it could not finish the sentence before I was connected to the representative. Apparently, the representatives do not get any information about your call, nor does People Magazine have a dedicated sales team, because the representative asked me for the zip code on my account. I said I didn't have an account, and she asked how she could help.
I told her I wanted to know the cost of a People Magazine subscription to potentially subscribe. She told me the cost was $118 and change for the subscription, and this was for the year. I asked her how many issues I would receive at that price, and she said that was for 52 issues. I asked to confirm that was one issue a week, and she said it was. I then thanked her for the information and ended the call.
The only negative I saw here was the system not giving its representatives any information about the call. If someone doesn't have an account, asking them to enter their information is just a waste of both people's time. Otherwise, this call was exemplary, and I would absolutely use this number for assistance if I were a genuine subscriber to People Magazine.
