E-Trade is an online financial services company. It has tools for investing in stocks, options, and bonds. It also offers checking and savings accounts like a bank does. To make investments on E-Trade, you need to transfer money into your E-Trade account. There are three ways to transfer money from your bank account into your E-Trade account.

Electronic Transfer

Electronic transfers are free. To transfer funds electronically, just follow these instructions:
1. If you don't know them, get your bank account's routing and account numbers, as well as your bank's address.
2. Go to E-Trade's home page.
3. Log into your account.
4. Click on "Transfer In."
5. Enter your account number, routing number, and you bank's address in the text fields provided.
6. Enter the amount of money you want to transfer.
7. Enter the date of the transfer.
8. Click on the "Transfer" button.
9. Verify that the information is correct. The transfer will now begin, and may take up to 3 business days to complete.
10. Check that the transfer has gone through successfully by logging back into your account and checking your funds.

Wire Transfer

Wire transfers are the fastest way to get money transferred to your E-Trade account. To initiate a wire transfer, just follow these instructions:
1. Go to E-Trade's home page.
2. Log into your account.
3. Write down your E-Trade account number and routing number.
4. Call your bank and say that you want a wire transfer to your E-Trade account.
5. Provide your E-Trade account number, routing number, and the amount you want transferred when asked.
6. Give your bank E-Trade's address: P.O. Box 1542 Merrifield, VA 22116. The transfer will now begin, and should take no more than 1 business day to complete.
7. Check that the transfer has gone through successfully by logging back into your account and checking your funds.
