Although Root Insurance offers an array of insurance products such as renters and homeowners insurance, its most popular product is car insurance. Its revolutionary app tracks how you drive and your premium is adjusted accordingly. But what's covered by Root? This article will break it down.

Root Car Insurance

Full coverage:

There is actually no such thing as a full coverage policy. It will be a mix between liability coverage, comprehensive coverage, and collision coverage. Here's what Root offers:

Liability coverage:

In the unfortunate event that you caused an accident then this type of cover will protect you against claims by the aggrieved person for bodily injury and property damage. The option only covers damages caused by the accident and not for any other event.

Comprehensive coverage:

Any other event which causes damages to your vehicle (not related to a car accident) will be covered under this section. Examples of these types of events will be hail storm damages, theft, or wildlife encounters.

Collision coverage:

This type of coverage helps you to cover the costs involved in repairing your vehicle when you were in an accident. It will also cover the costs of the repair to your vehicle if the other driver fled the scene or if they cannot pay for your repairs.

Root Renters Insurance

Renters Insurance can be divided into two categories:

Personal Liability:

If a guest gets injured at your home and decides to sue you for damages, you will be covered for the legal costs involved. You will also have cover for the medical expenses that are claimed from you because of the injury.

Personal Property:

All your movable property falls under this section. This section also provides cover for losses while traveling and "loss of use" should you not be able to live in your apartment whilst repairs are made to damaged property.

Root Homeowners Insurance

Basically, everything that is covered with Renters Insurance is covered in the Homeowners Insurance policy. The only add-on would be the coverage for possible damage to the immovable structure (your house).
