Moving money from your HSBC account is easy with the many options customers have available, but how do you send a wire from your HSBC account? You can get more information on accounts and services by callingĀ HSBC customer support, and below are ways to wire money from your account.

Before Making the Wire Transfer

Before you start the wire transfer, you will need the following information:

  • Recipients full name or business name.
  • Address of the recipient.
  • Recipient's bank name and address.
  • Bank routing number for US banks or bank identifier code for international banks for the recipient.
  • Account number for US banks or international bank account number for international banks for the recipient.

Double check the information before starting the wire transfer. Incomplete or incorrect information can delay the transfer or send the funds to the wrong recipient causing you to lose the transfer amount.

Sending the Wire Transfer

Once you've confirmed the recipient's information, you will need to do these steps:

  1. Log into your personal online banking account.
  2. Enter your HSBC security code.
  3. Select "Wires" from the "Useful Links" bar to navigate to the "Wires, Transfers and Bill Pay" page.
  4. Choose the deposit account you will be transferring funds from.
  5. Go to the "To" section and select "Wires/Real-Time Payments" and choose the recipient if you have already added that person or business as a recipient before.
  6. To add a new recipient, click "New Payee" and add the information required, including generating a transaction verification code for that payee.
  7. Confirm the payee information.
  8. Set the amount and date for the transaction or set recurring payments.
  9. Review the information on the screen.
  10. Click "Confirm" to process the wire transfer.

When making a wire transfer, you may have to pay a small fee for the transaction based on the financial institution receiving the funds. Transfers made before 5:45 p.m. ET are processed on the same day, and after 5:45 p.m. the next business day. You can review up to two years of wire transfer receipts online from your personal banking page for up to two years.
