This article will teach you how to set up a recurring transfer from your Capital One account.

Linking an External Account

Before you can transfer money to an account at another bank, you need to link that bank account with your Capital One account. Here is the procedure for doing that:

  1. Go to the Capital One website.
  2. Sign into your Capital One account.
  3. Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner.
  4. Click on External Accounts.
  5. Click on Add External Account.
  6. Enter the required information about that count.
  7. Follow the prompts to finish the linking process. This will involve small deposits being sent to the external account. You will need the owner of the account (if it's not you) to tell you the deposit amounts.

Please note that you can only link accounts online from a computer. You cannot do it with the Capital One app.
