Introduction

If you have a T-Mobile account then you can add other users to it besides yourself. That way, your family members, coworkers, or circle of friends can all benefit from being on the same plan. You can benefit from help managing the account. There are a couple of different ways you can add a new authorized user to your account, either by using your computer or by using the T-Mobile T-Life app.

What You'll Need

Authorized account users can:Make purchases on the accountChange your service planAdd or remove featuresReceive notices and disclosures on your behalfIf the new authorized account user does not currently have a T-Mobile ID then a new T-Mobile ID will be generated for them.

The new authorized account user must be at least 18 years of age. They must be at least 21 years of age in Puerto Rico.

A new authorized user will not show up in your account until they finish the setting-up process, so do not expect to see them there once you have finished your part of the process.

Go to the T-Mobile home page.

Click on the My Account link in the upper right corner and select the Sign In option to sign in to your account.

Select Account.

Click on Profile Settings.

Choose the User Roles option.

Select the Add Authorized User option.

Enter the new authorized user's email address or phone number.

Enter the new user's name.

Click the Continue button.

Review the information presented to you.

Tick the agreement box and click the Confirm button.

Click on the Done button.

The new authorized use will receive an email or text message from T-Mobile. It will contain the steps they need to take to finish the process of becoming an authorized user on your account. Make sure they know to look for the text or email.

Open T-Mobile's T-Life app.

Tap the Manage tab.

Tap the gear icon.

Select the Permissions & Control icon.

Choose User Roles.

Tap the Add New Authorized user option.

Enter the new authorized user's email and phone line.

Enter the new user's name.

Tap on Continue.

The new authorized use will get a text message or email from T-Mobile containing the steps they need to take to complete the process of adding themselves to your account. Make sure that they know to look out for the text or email.
