In a nutshell: Enabling the SIM PIN feature on T-Mobile devices enhances security by requiring a PIN upon restart or SIM removal, deterring unauthorized access. However, entering the wrong PIN three times locks the SIM, necessitating a PUK code for reactivation. Users typically have ten attempts to enter the PUK; exceeding this results
Having your SIM PIN feature enabled is a great way to add some extra security to your T-Mobile mobile device. This feature requires you to enter your SIM card's PIN whenever your device is restarted or when the SIM card is removed and placed in another device. These things make it much harder for thieves to access your phone. However, if you need to enter your SIM PIN but get it wrong too many times, it will then lock up, and you will need a PUK code to unlock it.
Entering the wrong SIM PIN three times is enough to lock the SIM with most SIM cards. In general, most service providers cannot tell you what your SIM PIN is.You get 10 tries to enter your PUK code. After entering it incorrectly 10 times, your SIM card will permanently lock, and there will be no way to unlock it. If that happens, you will need to get a new SIM card.It is generally not a good idea to guess at your SIM PIN. However, if you do not know your SIM PIN and you need access right away, you can try using the T-Mobile default SIM PINs: "1234," "5678," and "0000." Just remember, you only get three tries. The "USSD short codes" feature must be enabled on your mobile device for the PUK code unlock to work. If it is not enabled and your SIM card gets locked, you're out of luck. You will need to get a new SIM card.Once you get your PUK code, enter it into your mobile device when prompted to do so. If you are not prompted, open the dial interface and enter **05*[PUK]*[New PIN] *[New PIN]#. If you have a dual SIM phone and need to enter the PUK for the second SIM, enter **052*[PUK2]*[New PIN2]*[New PIN2]#. In either case, replace the [PUK] with your PUK number and [New PIN] with your new SIM PIN.
In many cases, you can find it in or on the package. If you can't, proceed with the next step.

A dropdown menu will appear.
If you cannot find it there, you need to call customer service.
Call a T-Mobile customer service representative to ask for your PUK code. They should be able to provide you with it over the phone, though you will need to call from another device if your SIM card is locked. If you need to call a T-Mobile customer service agent for your PUK code, or for any other reason, you can reach them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like T-Mobile (UK) in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Get My Unlock or Puk Code with T-Mobile? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
