Windstream is an internet service provider that operates primarily in rural areas. If Windstream is one of the ISP options you are considering, you are probably wondering if it's a good fit for you. Read on to for the answer.

Windstream's Service Plans

Windstream's High Speed Internet 25 Mbps plan costs $27 a month. This is package is best for single light internet users.

The High Speed Internet 50-100 Mbps plan has speeds ranging from 50 to 100 Mbps, depending on where you live. To find out what speed you will actually get, you will have to call and ask. It costs $37 a month. This plan supports multiple users and some video streaming.

The High Speed Internet 200 Mbps plan has a speed of 200 Mbps and a cost of $42 a month. This plan supports multiple devices, home office use, and smart homes.

The High Speed Internet 300-400 Mbps plan has speeds from 300 to 400 Mbps. The speed varies by location. It costs $47 per month. This plan can support heavy internet use that includes serious gaming.

The Kinetic Gig plan has a speed of 1,000 Mbps and a cost of $57 a month. I can support large households with heavy internet use and home businesses.

None of the plans have a data cap.

Windstream offers internet service in 18 states, mostly in rural areas.

Windstream has a $10 equipment rental fee, an installation fee of $35 and an activation fee of $50. There is no termination fee.

The poor customer satisfaction ratings indicate that a lot of the company's customers might not be satisfied with its services. Availability is rather limited, as well. All in all, it seems well suited for customers on a budget in rural areas where there aren't many choices, but not for most other customers.
