Do I need to have insurance in Georgia?

Asked 2 years ago
In Georgia, it is legally required for drivers to carry liability insurance at a minimum. This insurance must cover bodily injury and property damage that may occur as a result of an accident in which the driver is at fault. The state mandates that drivers must have at least $25,000 in bodily injury coverage per person, $50,000 total for all injuries in a single accident, and $25,000 for property damage. Additionally, while health and life insurance are not mandated for individuals, having them is generally advisable for financial protection. Homeowners or renters insurance is also recommended to cover personal property and liability in case of accidents or disasters. It is always a wise choice to assess personal circumstances and risk factors to determine the appropriate level of coverage. For detailed information and state requirements, individuals may want to consult the current web page of the Georgia Department of Insurance.
