In a nutshell: If you’re having trouble accessing your Venmo account, avoid creating a new one, as it may violate terms and complicate payment methods. Issues can often be resolved easily. To recover a frozen account, make a recovery payment using a debit or credit card
Venmo is a convenient way to send and receive money, and to receive client payments if you are in business for yourself. So, if you can no longer sign in to your Venmo account, you may be very anxious to fix the problem and regain access. There are a few different things that could be causing the problem, and most of them are pretty easy to resolve.
If you are having difficulty signing in, do not try to get around the problem by just creating a new account. This can cause problems with your payment methods and is against Venmo's terms of service.
If you are trying to unfreeze and account that was frozen because of a failed payment, you will need to provide funds for a recovery payment. Do this using a debit or credit card, rather than a bank transfer, because the card payment will go through right away, while the bank transfer can take up to five days, leaving your account frozen for longer.
If you contact Venmo's customer support for help regaining access to your account, make sure you have the email address and phone number associated with the account, your bank's routing number, and the last four digits of your bank account number with you.

If you are signing in from a new device and no longer have access to the email and phone associated with your Venmo account and have been asked to provide a verification code sent by Venmo, skip to step 6.
If your account has been frozen, skip to step 9.
If you cannot remember your password, continue on with the next step.
Because it is a remembered device, you might not be asked for the verification code this time. If you get in to your account, change the email and phone number in your profile so this problem does not happen again.
Follow the prompts to regain access to your account.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Venmo in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Recover My Venmo Account If I Can't Sign In? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
